Tarp

A plain, modern terminal — Warp with the AI, the cloud, and the accounts pulled out.

Warp got the terminal right — blocks, modern input, a genuinely good rendering engine — and then wrapped it in an account system, a cloud backend, and an AI layer I didn’t want in the one tool I live in all day.

Tarp is that terminal with those layers removed. Not AI-native. Not cloud-first. No account to sign into, and no telemetry leaving the machine. What’s left is the part that was actually good.

It’s a fork, so it inherits Warp’s foundations and stays close to them. The work is mostly subtraction.
